It’s 1954. Baggy Frumpton finds himself on the garbage heap of out-of-work old movie and radio performers.

 

  Once famous for his comic acting roles, Baggy hatches a plan with his long time manager, Leo Kahnard, to rekindle his career as a serious actor in the then new medium of television.

  Along the way he reconnects with his formerly glamorous movie star ex-wife. Their journey to revive their failing careers leads to unexpected events and unforeseen situations.
