Dr. Oster's books have been described as, "...sort of an amalgam of Raymond Chandler
and Dave Barry, and at other times, as Alfred Hitchcock and James Thurber."

Robert Oster’s Perfidious Rogues is a wickedly satirical novel consisting of five individual yet interconnected short stories.
Each tale attempts to explain two fundamental societal questions:
1. Why do good things happen to bad people?
2. Does everybody always have the ability to make good choices?
Humor, heaping doses of irony and off-the-wall characters inhabit each tale in which the protagonist must decide if it is necessary to achieve one’s goals by lying, cheating and committing criminal acts and if these types of behavior are necessary to survive in a world where dishonesty is the norm.
